A delegation from Energy China CPECC intl. came to our university for exchange and research

News On the afternoon of June 18, Xu Shu, assistant general manager of China Power Engineering Consulting Group International Engineering Co., LTD. (CPECC intl.) was invited to exchange and research in the School of Atmospheric Sciences of our university, and conduct research sessions on scientific cooperation matters such as wind and solar energy resource evaluation. Accompanying the visit were Zuo Peng, deputy general manager of International Energy Planning Consulting Center of CPECC intl., Jin Minghong, deputy chief engineer of Survey Engineering Company of Southwest China Electric Power Design Institute Co., LTD., Xian Zhiyu, project manager of International Engineering Company of Southwest China Electric Power Design Institute Co., LTD, and related scientific researchers. Professor Zhang Yu, Dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences, and related research backbone teachers participated in the discussion. The meeting was chaired by Dean Zhang Yu.

Dean Zhang Yu extended a warm welcome to the Assistant General Manager Xu Shu and his delegation, and introduced the college's innovative measures in professional construction, personnel training and scientific research under the background of carbon neutral energy transition. He pointed out that at present, the School of Atmospheric Sciences has the research foundation and talent reserve in the field of new energy meteorology, which can provide meteorological science and technology support for the wind and solar power business of CPECC intl..

Xu Shu thanked the School of Atmospheric Sciences for its support. He said that the characteristics and advantages of Chengdu University of Information Technology's atmospheric science discipline are obvious. Combining with the company's overseas new energy business development needs, he hoped to cooperate with the school in the assessment of overseas wind and solar energy resources.

At the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions and exchanges on the technical difficulties of wind and solar energy resource assessment, data and computing resource requirements, and possible solutions.
